PATTI AND TIM CARVING PUMPKINS
Patti and Tim carved their pumpkins tonight, Tim said it was the first time he had carved a pumpkin. They both had a lot of fun and Cassidy slept right through it. Robby has his pumpkin cleaned out but hasn't carved it yet...he better hurry up and do it or Mom will carve it with a cool golf design I just found!!
Cassidy Joi is 2 months old today and getting cuter every day!! Grandma made her a new sleeper out of lavender snowflake fleece fabric, she was hungry when we tried it on her so it was hard to get a good picture. Grandma carved her a pumpkin tonight (with a little "help" from our miniature daschund..Divot) but it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked...I just don't have the patience for it anymore!! I can't believe I carved George Bush's face on a pumpkin last year (I must have been nuts).
Patti, Tim, and Cassidy are coming over later tonight to carve their pumpkins after Tim gets out of work. I will post pictures tomorrow of them.
One thing nice about being a Grandma is that you have time to do the fun things like sew for Cassidy. I just made her two blanket sleepers, and I have fabric to make her one more. Patti still likes to have Cassidy's hands covered so these sleepers have the sleeves that can cover or uncover her hands, she looks adorable in them!!! I will take pictures of her in one soon. Here is one of them in ladybug fabric, I also put up the picture of her in her costume again because she looks so cute!!
Grandma had Cassidy try on her candy corn costume today. She looked so cute that Patti and I couldn't stop laughing. She was a little upset in one of the pictures but I think its because she realized her pink booties didn't match her costume :-) . Or.......maybe because Grandma hasn't put the arm holes in the costume yet !!!! Cassidy and her Mom and Dad seem to do be doing fine in their new apartment and everyone is doing well. Leave some comments and let me know how you like Cassidy's costume.
Plantar Fasciitis: "The plantar fascia is a ligament-like band running from your heel to the ball of your foot. This band pulls on the heel bone, raising the arch of your foot as it pushes off the ground. But if your foot moves incorrectly, the plantar fascia may become strained. The fascia may swell and its tiny fibers may begin to fray, causing painful plantar fasciitis." For all of you who spend hours a day on your feet at work you will probably be able to relate to this post!! I've been seeing a foot doctor lately for what is commonly called a bone spur on the bottom of my right heel. About 3 weeks ago he injected cortisone into the side of my foot (the pain was unbelievable), that provided relief for only about 10 days and then the pain returned even worse than when it started. Last week it felt like I was walking on sharp rocks with my right foot and it got to the point where it was unbearable to even walk!! I went back to the doctor and he said the bone spur had ripped the tendon in the arch of my foot (no wonder it hurt!!). So he put an air cast on the foot and said I have to wear it for at least 2 weeks, 24/7, I've tried wearing it to bed at night but when I wake up its on the floor so I must take it off without realizing it. I figure since I don't walk while I sleep it should be ok, lol. Since I spend 10 hours a day on my feet at work the doctor put me on restrictions and I can "only sit" at work. Yeah Right!!!!!!! That means I can "sit" on Exit or "sit" at the X-ray machine. I work as a Federal Security Screener at the airport and most of my job is done standing up, which means I can't do most of my job which really frustrates me because I Love my job and working with the passengers. My superiors have been really great and have accommodated my doctors orders but for anyone that knows me well knows I can't sit and do nothing for any length of time. Lets hope the next 2 weeks fly by and my foot gets better in that time!! If anyone has pain in their heel or bottom of their foot see a doctor right away because if its treated soon surgery will not be needed. I have talked with several airport employees and its amazing the amount of people that have the same problem as I have, but we all spend a great deal of time on our feet everyday.
Patti, Tim and Cassidy have moved to their own apartment :-(. I know is good for them to get out on their own but its still hard not to see Cassidy everyday. Grandma and Grandpa were spoiled being able to see her anytime !!
Hopefully we will get to see them often, I will take pictures whenever I can. I have her candy corn costume done and as soon as she tries it on I will get a picture.
This picture is just a random one that someone sent me, I love fall leaves!!!
Grandma is making Cassidy a candy corn costume for her first Halloween. I don't know who is more excited...Patti or me. Here is a picture of the costume so far, I have to cut a hole in the middle of the white area for her cute little face. I will post pictures of her with it on as soon as it is finished :-) .
Spending time with Mom and Dad is what Cassidy Joi loves to do best. When she's bored with that she looks for Grandma :-). Here are some cute pictures of her, in one of the pics she has a cute Eeyore outfit on that Grandma Lewanda sent her from Florida. Enjoy....
Patti, Tim and Grandma gave Cassidy her first real tub bath tonight. She is just so CUTE !!! We took a ton of pictures, she looks really cute in her bunny rabbit bathrobe. ENJOY....
Today Patti had her one month appointment with her OB doctor, Dr. Wolfe. Grandma took her and Cassidy because Tim was at work. The doctor said everything was great and she loved Cassidy, but of course who wouldn't!! Tim met us there after he got out of work, Cassidy was glad to see her Daddy. Patti and I went to the fabric store last night and got fabric to make Cassidy a candy corn costume for Halloween, I will post pictures as soon as it is done.
A co-worker sent me this picture and I thought everyone would it enjoy it too. Hope your weekend is going well, I've had 6 days off. We went up north and picked up our pontoon boat and brought it home and today I'm washing windows and screens getting ready for the cold weather. We are golfing tomorrow with Bob and Irma at Boulder Creek Country Club, lets hope the weather is nice!!
I started our family blog after our first grandchild was born. Her other grandparents live in Florida and this is a way for them to watch Cassidy Joi grow.
