PUPPY CLOTHES...

Its amazing the things you find to do when you are home sick with strep throat...
First of all we changed our puppy's name from Hemi to Minnie, she's so tiny I had to change it to a name that fit her.
I made her two dogie dresses to keep her warm, she only weighs 1.5 pounds and she gets cold easily.
Also, Bob had been working storm duty since Wednesday so I haven't seen him much at all :-( .

YUCK.........A HUGE SNAPPING TURTLE!!!!!!!!!!

We were at Patti and Tim's today and there was a HUGE snapping turtle in the front yard. Good thing Josh was with us because he kept him at bay until the maintenance guys arrived. Of course Patti had to follow in her Dad's steps and paint a "T" on his shell with nail polish in case he returns. The "T" is supposed to stand for Toby, a pet turtle Bob had when he was a boy.
The first maintenance guy didn't know what to do with it and we didn't want it to stay there in case a child came up and tried to play with it. Luckily a second guy showed up and grabbed it by the tail and took it to the woods.
You won't believe how big it was...he must be pretty old because his shell showed plenty of wear on it.

CASSIDY HAS A BIRTHDAY COMING...

Cassidy Joi will be 1 on Wed. the 29th, I can't believe how fast the year has gone by. She is such a beautiful, happy, easy going little girl and we just love her more and more every day. She is just about walking already, she can take a couple steps. Grandpa and Grandma got her a Leap Frog learning table, it teaches abc's, numbers, colors, and lots of fine motor skills. We gave it to her tonight and she was so excited. She likes music and she dances to it. It was hard to get a smile our of her because she was really tired, but she did play peek-a-boo with Grandpa. Enjoy the pictures

NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY

I think I forgot to mention that the basset hound we had, Dobie is no longer with us. He was starting to nip at friends who came over so we gave him back to his original owner Dale, who then gave him to his daughter. She was thrilled to have Dobie back and he now lives in Georgia with her. He was a wonderful dog as long as no one else was around us.
SO...I found my dream dog. Some friends of ours Bob and Irma knew of a guy who had 5 week old Chihuahua's that the mom had quit nursing. We went and looked at them and of course had to bring one home. We took the girl and she only weights 1.25 pounds!!! She is eating soft puppy food really well and we already have her litter box trained. I absolutely love her, she still a baby so she likes to cuddle with you and sleep when she can. We named her "Hemi" because little dogs usually think they are bigger than they really are :-) .

OOPSIES....

I just love starting my morning's out with a "Bang"!!
The neighbors across the street had some men over doing concrete work for them and the guys parked there Jeep right at the bottom of our driveway (across the street from it). Anyways...I backed out with the Durango and hit his front bumper with my rear bumper...GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
So...we called the police because the guy wanted a police report for his insurance company, so that's fine except, the lady cop gave me a TICKET!!!
For "failure to yield exiting a private drive", is that dumb or what, its not like I did it on purpose. I told the cop that next time we will handle it on our own and just exchange information. Oh well, live and learn and use your mirrors :-) .

CUTE PICTURES!!!!

We stopped over to Patti and Tim's last night to see Patti's dog Missy who has been missing for over two months. Patti had placed several ads looking for Missy and someone called yesterday and they had found her.
While we were there Tim was giving Cassidy a bath so luckily Grandma had her camera with her. She loves the water so much, I have included some really cute pictures. My favorite one is the one of her standing up by the faucet...Enjoy!!

MY BABY GIRL TURNS 19 TODAY!!!

I can't believe our baby girl is 19 years old today...she was born on 8/88/88. And the weather was just as bad as it was today 19 years ago. Pregnant women don't forget those miserable details.
Patti has grown up to be a great woman and an excellent mother to our first grand daughter Cassidy Joi. We love you Patti Jean and we are very proud of you. :-).

BIRTHDAY TIME...

Bob and I took Patti and Cassidy out to dinner at Red Lobster to celebrate their birthdays and mine. Patti's is August 8th, Cassidy's is August 29th, and mine was July 29th. We took Austin, Tim's cousin with us too since Patti was watching him for the weekend. We had alot of fun, Cassidy provided most of the entertainment for us. She wanted Grandma's lemon slice so I gave it to her, she made faces at first but then decided she liked it. I've included some really cute pictures...

FUN IN THE SUN WITH CASSIDY JOI

I've had the last 5 days off from work and it has been WONDERFUL!!
Saturday Bob and I golfed, Sunday we went to the Allegan Antique Fair with some friends, Monday we went tubing down the Thornapple River with all the kids (Tim's sister Char watched Cassidy for them), Tuesday
we went to Grand Haven for the Coast Guard Festival , and today we went golfing again (early before it got hot), and then in the afternoon we went over to Tim and Patti's and went swimming. Cassidy loves the water, she is like a little fish just like her Mom was when she was little.
Back to work on Thursday, but I only have 3 days to work and then I get 3 more off:)
