NEW PICTURES
Its so nice to have a camera again, I use it all the time especially when I'm with Cassidy Joi. Bob and I, and Patti and Cassidy went grocery shopping last night. Cassidy loves to go shopping and I got some cute pictures, one is of her playing "patty cakes" and one is of her and Grandpa. The first picture is a picture I took of her one year picture so it has some glare on it. I've also included a couple of our dog Minnie, I made her a new dress with "Super Girl" flannel fabric...she's so cute and fun to have around.
I haven't posted lately because my digital camera finally quit for good, I had it for 7 years though so it didn't owe me anything. I have a brand new one now and I will get new pics of Cassidy up soon, she's walking now :-)
Earlier this year we lost one of our co-workers in Iraq. Brandon Stout was an amazing young man who was proud to serve his country both here at home and over in Iraq. I was pleased tonight when President Bush mentioned Brandon, his wife Audrey and their family in his Presidential Address... The President also mentioned the sacrifice one West Michigan Family has made losing their son, “Earlier this year I received an e-mail from the family of Army Specialist Brandon Stout of Michigan. Brandon volunteered for the National Guard. He was killed while serving in Baghdad. His family has suffered greatly, yet in their sorrow they see larger purpose. His wife Audrey says that Brandon felt called to serve and knew what he was fighting for. And his parents Tracey and Jeff wrote me this:”“We believe this is a war of good and evil and we must win even if it cost the life of our own son, freedom is not free.”The President went on to say, “This country is blessed to have Americans like Brandon Stout, who make extraordinary sacrifices to keep us safe from harm. They are doing so in a fight that is just and right, and necessary. And now it falls to us to finish the work they have begun. Some say the gains we are making in Iraq come too late, they are mistaken. It is never too late to deal a blow to Al-Qeda. It is never too late to advance freedom. And it is never too late to support our troops in a fight they can win. Good night and God Bless America.”
Unlike most Americans, I'm reminded of the attack on 9/11/2001 on a daily basis. I have worked as a Federal Security Officer for Homeland Security for 5 years. I'm very passionate about my job and I do it to the best of my ability to insure I have a part in preventing another terrorist attack. I grieve for those families who lost loved ones and I know through our prayers that the Lord will continue to uphold them and give them comfort.
Tonight we had Cassidy's first birthday party at Patti and Tim's place. I think Cassidy was a bit over-whelmed but she loved every minute of it. Patti's cousin Katie and her little boy Nicholas and his Grandma came over, Nicholas was born two months after Cassidy was. Aunt Mary and Christi where there, Tim's sister Char and her kids and lots of Patti and Tim's friends. The next few blogs will probably of the birthday pictures...I only took 72!!
I started our family blog after our first grandchild was born. Her other grandparents live in Florida and this is a way for them to watch Cassidy Joi grow.
