CHEMO QUILTS FOR A FRIEND AND HER DAUGHTERS

A friend that I have worked with for several years is going through a rough time right now. Three years ago his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was pregnant with their youngest daughter. She waited until the baby was delivered safely to start any type of chemo so as not to harm their daughter. Just recently she has had a recurrence and they have their hands full, their girls are now 3 and 5 years old. Jodi has to fly out every 3 weeks for chemo treatments and John, my co-worker stays home to take care of the girls and work when he can.
This weekend I made Jodi a "Chemo Quilt" and then I made miniature ones to match for the two little girls. My friend Diane embroidered their names on them for me.
The fabric is really cool, it says "The Pink Ribbon Sisterhood...supporting each other in the ultimate fight for life".
Enjoy the pictures, and keep John and Jodi and their family in your prayers.

IT TAKES REAL TALENT...

OK, so I said I wasn't going to post for awhile but I feel 100% better than I have in 3 weeks so I changed my mind :-).
Bob and I went to drive a bucket of balls at the Kentwood Golf Range this evening, well...I learned its not a good idea to wear your regular sandals when hitting golf balls off wooden "T's". I went to hit my second ball and had terrible pain in my left foot all of a sudden, a broken "T" had gone right through the bottom of my sandal and into my foot, OUCH!!
I told Bob that at least I keep our "dates" exciting!!

DOBIE LOVES TO GO FOR A WALK!!

Dobie is still with us and we have decided to keep him. He is such a good dog, never demanding and very loving. The minute you get his lease out he gets really excited because he knows he's going for a walk. Here a couple pictures of him while we were out, he has to stop and smell EVERYTHING, and when you have 75# of dog on the other end of the leash he usually gets his way :-) . We hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend, I probably won't be posting for a while I have been really sick for 3 weeks and I need some down time to get better. God Bless!!

A WONDERFUL DAY!!!

I had a wonderful Mothers Day, Patti, Tim and Cassidy came over in the morning and brought me a card and a cool t-shirt that you can put hand prints on. Since I've been sick with a terrible sinus infection from my abscessed tooth I was able to relax and take a nap today. Tonight Patti and Tim had us over for supper, it was great!! We took a picture of Patti, Cassidy and I while we were there and we plan on taking a picture every Mothers Day. Hope everyone had a great day.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY !!

LAST NIGHT AFTER WORK, PATTI, CASSIDY AND I WENT OUT TO SUPPER TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE MOTHERS DAY. ALL THE GUYS WERE AT MARTIN SPEEDWAY WATCHING THE THUNDER NATIONALS SO WE SPENT THE EVENING TOGETHER AND HAD A GREAT TIME.

I'VE INCLUDED A PICTURE OF DOBIE AND CASSIDY, THE DOG HAD JUST GIVEN HER A KISS AND THE LOOK ON HER FACE IS JUST TOO FUNNY!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EVERYONE, WE HOPE YOUR DAY IS WONDERFUL!!

ROUGH COUPLE DAYS :-(

Its been a tough week for me...Thursday I had to have an emergency tooth extraction, it had abscessed into my sinus cavity and was extremely painful!!
Then, on top of that Friday morning I had to have the toe nail removed from my third toe on my left foot. I can't remember when I've had so much fun in one week!!
A bright spot today is we have a basset hound named Dobie over for the weekend, he belongs to my screening manager Dale from work. This dog is about as laid back as they get...he weighs 75 pounds and is very well behaved. He follows me all over the house and lays down where ever I'am, he is sooo cute. I've included a picture of him for you to see.

CASSIDY'S FASHION SHOW...

Grandma made the mistake of looking at the little girls clothes at the Dollar Store...YES, I got these outfits at the dollar store for only $4.99 each!! At the rate kids outgrow their clothes that is a real bargain!! Here is Cassidy with two of the outfits on...she is so cute (and she knows it). There's also a picture of Cassidy giving her Mom a kiss, I love the way she puts her hands on Patti's cheek :-) .

SEWING UP A STORM...

Lately I have decided to make time for the things I enjoy doing, sewing being one of those things. I started sewing when I was in the the 7th grade and have been sewing ever since, I used to make all of our kids clothes when they were little (and would wear them).
Today, after spending the morning with Patti and Cassidy, I went home and made a new valance and new curtains for our bay window in the dining room. I got all the material for all the new window treatments for $21.80!!! Field's Fabrics by our house has a clearance store next to the regular store and that's where I got the fabric for both the valance (106in. long) and the 5 small curtains. What a deal!!! Here is a picture of the finished product...
